(Lander, WY) – A Fremont County resident is one of the panelists scheduled to present as part of an upcoming legislative recap webinar hosted by the Equality State Policy Center.
The People’s Review Live event is scheduled to take place at noon on Wednesday, April 9, featuring three expert panelists – including John Burrows, the Energy and Climate Policy Director for the Wyoming Outdoor Council in Lander.
“(Burrows’) work focuses on growing Wyoming’s capacity to organize and respond to challenges related to climate change and the decarbonization of energy sources,” ESPC said in an email about the event. “He works closely with community partners, academic institutions, and state policymakers across the state. … He also works annually as a field instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School and as a volunteer with Lander’s Trout Unlimited chapter and Rotary Club.”
The other panelists participating in the legislative recap are:
- Jody Sanborn, a dedicated leader in gender-based violence prevention with 20 years of experience working at the intersection of public health and social change. As the Training and Technical Assistance Director at Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (WCADVSA), she collaborates with communities to develop evidence-based programs and foster cross-sector partnerships. She and her family live outside of Sheridan, where they spend as much time as possible in the mountains with their German Wirehaired Pointer, Dotty Wiggles, Esq.
- Kevin Reddy, who grew up in Casper and is a 24 year Firefighter with Cheyenne Firefighters. He has served as President of the Federated Fire Fighters of Wyoming for eight years and also is the Chairman of the Wyoming Coalition for a Healthy Retirement.
“Hear from experts on labor, social justice, and conservation as they break down key bills and their impact,” ESPC said. “Ask questions, learn how your legislator voted, and make a plan for action!”
Webinar attendees will also receive a digital copy of the ESPC’s People’s Review Legislative Accountability Project, which the ESPC describes as a “guide to legislative accountability.”
“Our democracy depends on ‘we the people’ – you and I – staying informed and getting involved,” ESPC Executive Director Jenny DeSarro said. “This means voting, asking questions, listening, speaking up, and ensuring our government is made for freedom to create, to improve the lives of everyone, to live and let live in our communities.”
