(Riverton, WY) – In tribute to our local veterans who have served our nation, American Legion Post 19 proudly announces the annual Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11, on Riverton’s Main Street. All are invited to attend or participate in the parade to honor our veterans for their service.
Parade line-up begins at 10:15 a.m. at S. 1st Street (between The Depot Restaurant and the BMO bank parking lot). Taps will be played at 10:55 a.m. The parade will step off at 11:00 a.m. sharp, with the procession led by Riverton Police Department escort moving east down Main Street towards City Park; next will be the Color Guard, then veterans and their vehicles, followed by decorated individual and business entries, then concluding with first responder vehicles. The procession will stop briefly at Main Street and Broadway for the National Anthem.
Participation is open to all in the community—veterans, families of veterans, service and civic groups, first responders, businesses and individuals. Decorate your entries with flags and veteran/military tributes. Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly and bring flags to wave from Main Street’s sidewalks.

Veterans Day Breakfast
In the morning, before the parade, is First Interstate Bank’s annual Veterans Breakfast at the Fremont Center, Fremont County Fairgrounds, from 7:00-10:15 a.m. If you or your community organizations offer services to veterans, or if you have items you would like to donate such as food, clothes, coats, etc. and are interested in setting up a table at the breakfast, contact Ree Coffee at 307-840-5071 or Carol Harper at goriverton@gmail.com.
Call for Volunteers: Avenue of Flags
The American Legion needs volunteers for the Avenue of Flags set up the day before Veterans Day. They will need at least three trucks with three people (plus the driver) per vehicle. Those who can help will need to meet at the REACH Foundation flag shed at 622 N. 8th Street on Monday, November 10 at 6:00 AM. For more information, contact Commander Nancy Eustice at 307-851-7280.
