(Fremont County, WY) – A two-vehicle crash reported on February 1 resulted in two deaths, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol’s preliminary report posted on February 10.
The deceased have been identified in the report as Wyoming residents Christopher Posey (30) and Jarrod Guina (35).
According to the report, the crash occurred on US 287 near milepost 6 and was reported around 11:22 AM.
The narrative states that a passenger vehicle was turning southbound on US 287, while a second vehicle was northbound. The second vehicle steered left to avoid the first vehicle, but it struck the front of the first vehicle.
The second vehicle ran off the road to the left, rolled multiple times, struck a power pole, and continued to roll multiple times before coming to its final resting place on the roof.
The report states that it is “unknown” whether the deceased were drivers or passengers of the vehicles they occupied.
“Driver Inattention” was listed as a possible contributing factor, and the report states that seatbelts were not in use. Road and weather conditions were listed as “dry” and “clear.”
There have been 10 deaths reported on Wyoming roadways to date in 2026.
