(Lander, WY) – The Wild Wonder Foundation awarded Nature Journaling Educator Nona Schrader a Micro Grant to start the Popo Agie Nature Journaling Club in Lander. Micro Grants were awarded to twenty-one clubs around the globe, making the Lander club part of an international cohort. The competition was significant, with 156 people around the world applying for the grant. The newest Micro Grant Fellows come from thirteen countries located on five continents.
“I am honored to be part of this global cohort of grant recipients,” Schrader said. “It’s amazing to see the projects taking place around the world and to know that Lander was recognized globally for our new club. I’m excited to share this process with people in Lander.”
Lander’s club is part of a world-wide effort to increase the impact of nature journaling. You don’t have to be an artist, a writer, or a naturalist to record observations of nature using words, sketches, and numbers. People of all ages will enjoy this process.

The Micro Grant provided by the Wild Wonder Foundation will allow Schrader to purchase nature journaling notebooks and sketching pencils for all club members, print materials to advertise the club, and rent the Lander City Park Gazebo. The first meeting will take place on Saturday, August 8th from 1 – 3 p.m. at the city park. Anyone interested should sign up for the club at nonaschrader.com.
