(Riverton, Wyo.) – Typically, the coldest time of the year in Riverton falls around News Years and into January. This year will be no exception, according to the National Weather Service Forecast Office at Riverton Regional Airport.
According to the NWS Weekly Update, the potential exists for low wind chills of 15 to 25 below zero by Saturday morning.
Light snow accumulations are expected through Saturday, with heavier snowfall expected to move across the state Sunday into Monday. The higher snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches in the mountains with lighter amounts of a few inches in lower elevations.
