(Pavillion, WY) – Leroy Sinner Field at Wind River High School held the first track meet of the season with a surprisingly large turnout of 14 teams. The Lander Valley Tigers won both the boys’ and girls’ divisions with strong challenges from Big Piney.
The Lady Tigers amassed 114 points to outdistance the Lady Punchers, who tallied 90.
The Lander girls were paced by thrower Adelyn Anderson, who easily won the shot and discus, and hurdler/jumper Paisley Hollingshead, who won the 100-meter hurdles and the high jump with a leap of 5-3.
Logan Milek paced the Tiger boys with wins in the 800 and 1600-meter runs.
Lander won a pair of relays as well, with the team of Brooks Even, Oliver Frank, Cade Hallock, and Brayden Johnson-Baker winning the 4×400 meter relay in 3:49.10. The sprint medley relay team of Noah Hoyt, Ryne Robinson, Brayden Baker, and Mack White won the event in 4:00.41.
