The Wind River Transportation Authority (WRTA) announces that, effective January 6, 2025, it will temporarily suspend the Yellow Line service and revert to its previous Purple and Orange Line schedules. While this adjustment may appear to reduce service, WRTA is simply reducing the frequency of operations and remains committed to serving all bus stops introduced over the past year, with continued progress on planned infrastructure improvements.
This decision reflects WRTA’s dedication to ensuring sustainable and efficient operations for the benefit of the entire community. After careful consideration of financial realities, staffing needs, and the loss of 1/2% sales tax funding, WRTA determined that reverting to its previous schedules is the most effective way to meet current needs while positioning for future growth.

Since implementing the Yellow Line, WRTA has identified gaps in service that impact other areas of its network. By returning to the Purple and Orange Line schedules, WRTA also aims to fill those gaps and provide a more balanced and efficient service. At the same time, the organization remains focused on collaborating with other transit providers to develop a comprehensive, county-wide transit system that serves Fremont County as a whole.
