(Sweetwater County, WY) – Talk about putting the “sweet” in Sweetwater. Temperatures across Wyoming are expected to reach triple digits many places this weekend. With the extremely high July heat index, the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Department have urgently placed their staff on notice with a simple message — “if you see a lemonade stand, pull over immediately!“
We’re pleased to report that Deputies Watkins, Poad, Otte and Merkley weren’t soured by these orders and have already supported many young entrepreneurs. First hand reports from Rock Springs and Green River tell us, “the lemonade is cold” and “the kid are awesome.”
County 10 would like to remind all residents across Fremont County and the state to stay cool, hydrated and check on your neighbors this weekend. If you must work outside, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning to avoid heat-related illness. Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles with temperatures this extreme.
