(Riverton, WY) – There was no place like home last Thursday and Friday for the Riverton golf team. Playing on their home course at the Riverton Country Club the Wolverines won the Class 4-A West tournament by 21 strokes over second-place Star Valley.
Riverton scored 606 to the Braves’ 627.
Sophomore Brody Taylor won the tournament with a two-day total of 146. Taylor shot 77 on Thursday and came back with a blistering 69 on Friday for the win.
In second place was teammate Cade Kisling of Shoshoni. Kisling was consistent, shooting 74 on Thursday and 77 on Friday for a total of 151.
Riverton placed two more golfers in the top 10 with Cameron Brown shooting 164 for sixth place and John Hull turning in a 155 for eighth.
There was no Riverton girls’ team in competition.
The Wolverines head to Evanston for the state tournament beginning on Thursday.
