(Riverton, WY) – Riverton held a 2-1 lead on goals by Hunter Saltsgaver just six minutes into the game and at the 31-minute mark, but they couldn’t hold on. Green River rallied to end the game in a 4-4 tie.
Green River freshman Tommy Vasco tied the game at 2-2 just five minutes into the second half. The talented ninth grader scored a hat-trick, hitting three of the Wolves’ four goals.
Riverton rallied on a Blake Gantenbein goal at 50 minutes, followed by Saltsgaver’s third score of the game at 54.
The two scores gave the Wolverines a 4-2 lead, but it was tenuous at best.
Green River scored back-to-back goals just a minute apart to tie the game at 4-4.
The first came on a goal by senior Braxton Doak at 56 minutes, and the second by Vasco at 57.
