A 37-year-old Missouri woman was injured in by a grizzly bear in Yellowstone National Park Monday morning.
The Cody Enterprise reports the woman was hiking alone on Fairy Falls Trail, near Old Faithful when the attack occurred.
Yellowstone officials said she encountered two grizzlies at close range on the trail. One of the bears knocked her over, injuring her leg and face. Park officials say her injuries are minor.
The woman attempted to use bear spray during the encounter, but was unable. This is Yellowstone’s first bear-human conflict reported in 2020.
