(Cheyenne, WY) – Fremont County was among the 12 Wyoming counties that showed decreases in employment from the first quarter of 2024 to the first quarter of 2025, according to a report released this month from the Research and Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.
The report says there were 15,152 jobs in Fremont County in the first quarter of 2025 – a decrease of 35, or .2 percent, from the first quarter of 2024, when there were 15,188 jobs in Fremont County.
Total wages were up, however, rising from $187.78 million in the first quarter of 2024 to $190.7 million in the first quarter of 2025 – an increase of $2.9 million, or 1.6 percent, the report states.
Similarly, the report indicates that the average weekly wage also increased in Fremont County – rising from $951 in the first quarter of 2024, to $968 in the first quarter of 2025, for a gain of $17, or 1.8 percent.
Total payroll increased in 19 other counties as well, according to the report.
Statewide, the report says total employment grew by 717 jobs (.3 percent) and total payroll increased by $140.7 million (3.4 percent) from first quarter 2024 to first quarter 2025.
