The Wind River Transportation Authority (WRTA) is proud to continue its annual tradition of offering FREE transportation for anyone traveling from the University of Wyoming (UW) to Fremont County for the holiday break. Funded fully by the Fremont County 1/2% sales tax for economic development, this specific service has been a valued resource for several years, providing a convenient and cost-free way for students, families, and other travelers to get home and back to campus.
WRTA is committed to the safety and well-being of Fremont County residents and visitors, especially during busy and tedious travel times like the Thanksgiving holiday. By offering this service, we aim to ensure everyone has a safe and reliable way to reach their destinations and return to Laramie. No charges will be incurred by riders.
All individuals planning to use the service are asked to contact WRTA at (307) 856-9782 in advance to provide rider information, or fill out this form. For those needing transportation beyond Lander and Riverton, please reach out to make additional arrangements.

Departure from Laramie:

Location: Long-term parking lot, along 30th St. by Willet Dr.
Parking: In coordination with UW, WRTA has arranged for individuals to park in the long-term lot over the break. Those who do not plan to park a vehicle in the long-term lot can use UW Transit to reach the designated pickup area near the East Express Lot.
Arrival in Fremont County:
Lander: Bomgaars (275 Grandview Dr, Lander, WY 82520) parking lot, approximately 6:00 p.m.
Riverton: City Hall (816 N Federal Blvd, Riverton, WY 82501) parking lot, approximately 7:00 p.m.
Return to Laramie:
