According to the Wyoming Department of Health, a 2017 report of women who gave birth in the state in 2017 had high rates of depression before, during and after pregnancy.
The agency’s Pregnancy Risk Assesment Monitoring System said that over 19% of women who gave birth in 2017 had depression before they were pregnant. 15% said they were depressed while pregnant. and 12.7% said they had symptoms of postpartum depression.
The survey included 70 questions to women who gave birth across the state.
