The Wyoming Department of Education is seeking public comment on its proposed Chapter 49 Mental Health Service Grants.
The grant program was created as part of the Wyoming Legislature’s 2024 budget bill, which appropriated $10 million for the WDE to distribute to districts and state-authorized charter schools to address student mental health needs.
The program provides resources in addition to funding allocated under the education resource block grant model.
Under the grant program rules, the Department will allocate and distribute $5 million to participating districts for the 2025-26 school year.
The public is invited to submit comments online or via email to trent.carroll@wyo.gov until 11:59 p.m. on September 1.
The online public comment form includes links to view the statement of reasons for the changes and the strike and underline versions of the rule sets.
All public comments will be recorded verbatim on the Secretary of State website, including the submitter’s name and city of residence, as part of the rules promulgation process.
