Due to the blizzard warning that just came across this afternoon for SE Wyoming and the personal safety and well-being of students and staff, we are going to cancel the Wyoming FFA Association Laramie-based contests and scheduled for April 10, 2019.
“The Wyoming FFA will work closely with our chapter FFA advisors on an amended schedule,” said State Advisor Stacy Broda. “As of April 9, 2019, at 4:35 p.m. we are still planning on moving forward with the remainder of the convention schedule beginning with our opening session at 7 p.m. in Cheyenne.”
Broda will work with the agriculture teachers and chaperones directly on rescheduling the Agronomy, Meats Evaluation, Agricultural Mechanics and Conduct of Chapter meeting competitions.
“We have been following the forecast closely for two days now, have consulted with the majority of the Wyoming FFA Board of Directors and consulted with local meteorologists. This decision was not made lightly. We recognize the inconvenience to our chapters and competition organizers but firmly believe the welfare of our students comes first.”
