If you’ve interacted with a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper or a Port of Entry clerk in October, you may have noticed many of them are wearing pink badges.
The badges are in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed every October.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, “Many of us have been personally affected by breast cancer, and some are honoring someone special in their life by wearing pink.”
Wyoming averages about 365 cases of breast cancer every year, or one new case a day.
That number is still low compared to the national average. A recent study found that Wyoming ranks 46th in the states with the highest breast cancer rate. Washington D.C., New Hampshire, and Connecticut all ranked the highest.
