(Ethete, WY) – The Fremont County School District 14 Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Chief’s Tech Center at 638 Blue Sky Highway in Ethete.
The agenda for the meeting includes two reports from visitors: Wind River Energy Commissioner Brian Williams and Siona Astorga from the University of Wyoming High Plains American Indian Research Initiative.
The board will also recognize the school robotics teams for earning awards at a recent tournament.
Under new business, the board will consider a request from the sixth, seventh and eighth grade girls of Wyoming Indian Middle School to establish a junior high and high school cheerleading team for the 2025-2026 school year.
The board will also consider three out-of-state travel requests: one for the Traditional Club to go to the Northern Colorado Intertribal Pow-wow in Fort Collins in April, another for two indoor track athletes and one coach to compete in the Simplot Games in Idaho this month, and a third for the Wyoming Indian High School track team to compete in South Dakota in April.
Other new business items on the agenda include:
- childhood health measures
- proposed calendars for 2025-2026 and 2026-2027
After an executive session, the board will consider revising the diesel tech assistant job description and approve internal transfers and position adjustments.
The board will also consider 2025-2026 contract offers, certified hiring recommendations, and advertisements for open positions before adjournment.
