The Wyoming House of Representatives nixed a bill to expand Medicaid Coverage according to reports from the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.
However, the Wyoming Senate would like to spend more than $250,000 to continue a study of the issue.
The bill was voted down Monday, which would have expanded Medicaid coverage as part of the Affordable Care Act, and put work requirements on those who would be eligible for the coverage.
The bill would have also given veto power to the governor, and create an option for the state to automatically drop out of the program if the federal government stopped paying 90% of the cost of expansion.
The bill would spend $260,000 for Wyoming to study the benefits, costs and drawbacks of expansion.
