According to Wyoming education officials and a Casper Star-Tribune report, the number of reports submitted across Wyoming on the Safe2Tell app has increased more than 10 times since 2017.
The program began in Natrona County in 2016, but has since expanded to all of Wyoming’s 48 school districts.
Officials say the program’s success is because of the school districts promotion, particularly for students.
Administrators believe the anonymity makes students more likely to report various kinds of threats.
