Wyoming State Parks is accepting bids for the acquisition of 18 bison from the state herd at Hot Springs State Park. Sealed bids will be received at the park headquarters in Thermopolis until 4 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2025.
The available animals include:
- Five 2025 heifer calves
- Ten 2025 bull calves
- Two 2024 yearling heifers
- One 2006 cow
All animals have received proper vaccinations. Minimum bid amounts are set as follows:
- $1,000 for 2025 heifer calves
- $1,100 for 2025 bull calves
- $1,200 for yearling heifers
- $1,000 for the 2006 cow
Bidders may submit offers for any or all of the available bison. The highest qualifying bidder for each animal—meeting or exceeding the minimum bid—will be awarded the purchase according to the State’s official sales list.
Successful buyers may begin collecting their animals on Dec. 9. Buyers are responsible for arranging transportation, as the seller does not provide delivery. Settlements must be made with the Hot Springs State Park Superintendent within seven days of bid award notification.
