(Riverton, WY) – Ryan Mosser is a high school graduate from Thermopolis, who enrolled in Wind River Job Corps to get his electrical certifications.
Since his arrival in February, he has received his State Electrical Apprenticeship Card and certifications in OSHA-10 Construction, Residential Roof Top Solar Technician, Ladder Safety, and Ramset Power Actuated Tools.
Ryan was also “Wind River Job Corps Student of the Week” in May, and an article was written and published on County 10’s webpage.
Now, Ryan has been selected out of the 165 students on-center to visit Washington, D.C. to represent Wind River Job Corps at the 2024 Job Corps Leadership Summit in August.
Ryan’s Electrical Instructor, Richard Foos, said, “I could not be prouder. Ryan is the second electrical student to represent Wind River at the D.C. Summit.”
Ryan was an Eagle Scout who would have been recognized in D.C., if not for the birth of his son.
Ryan stated, “This is such a great opportunity for me, and it is something special that I will be able to share with my child that he can be proud of. I can’t believe I finally get to go to D.C.”
During the Summit, Ryan and students from Job Corps centers all over the county will participate in networking opportunities, interactive sessions, and conference lectures that will focus on developing their leadership skills. Ryan will also get a chance to mingle with administrative leaders and tour D.C.’s historical sites.
Although Ryan intended on going to the Navy after graduating from Wind River Job Corps, he has since changed his mind and decided to stay in Wyoming.
Since Ryan already has his first-year electrical apprenticeship card, he intends to enroll in Wyoming’s Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Electrical Industry Program (JATC) in Casper, so that he can be closer to his son, significant other, and family.
“Congratulations, Ryan, looks like you finally get to go to D.C. after all,” WRJC said. “We are so proud of the young man you have become.”
