The National Weather Service office in Cheyenne has joking declared a competition is on between their office and NWS offices in west Texas for who will have the most High Wind Warnings in 2020.
Thus far the El Paso and Midland area stations are reporting a couple more warnings than southeastern Wyoming, but there’s still a few weeks to go.
NWS Cheyenne posted on their Twitter page Friday;
Will be a photo finish for which NWS office issues the most High Wind Warnings this year. So far, @NWSCheyenne has issued 48 but @NWSElPaso has issued 50. Who do you think will “win”?
