For much of the Cowboy State, Tuesday was breezy.
It was hurricane-like, however in Lincoln County. The National Weather Service posted wind and snowfall data from Tuesday, and Mt. Coffin, located west of Big Piney, recorded a gust of 120 mph.
120 mph winds in a hurricane, would be considered at a Category 3 according to the Saffir–Simpson scale.
Areas in Lincoln County received several inches of snowfall as well.
Meanwhile, in Fremont County there was no recorded snowfall Tuesday, however gusty winds were noted. The strongest gust was in the Muddy Gap area at 69 mph.
Fort Washakie saw gusts of 55 mph, Red Canyon and Beaver Rim also had gusts over 50 mph. Gusts in Riverton, South Pass, Dubois, and Jeffrey City exceeded 40 mph.
