A 28-year-old Gillette woman has admitted that she stole money and gift cards from elderly patients at a rehabilitation center.
The Gillette News-Record is reporting that Brittany Browning plead guilty to three counts of exploiting a vulnerable adult as part of a plea deal in which a fourth count was dismissed.
The penalties are felonies and will be contested at a sentencing hearing. Under the agreement, however, Browning will pay full restitution to the victims.
According to the News-Record, when Browning was asked why she took the money and gifts she replied that she didn’t know. Browning worked as a nursing assistant at the center.
