(Lander, WY) – The Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race organizers announced the 2022 race schedule on July 8th. This annual event will make its way back to Fremont County for stage two of the seven on January 30th.
All stages are 30 to 35 miles. In recent years, the local leg of the race has left from the Loop Road parking area on South Pass. The location depends on snow so the other departure possibility is Bruce’s Parking Area in Sinks Canyon. That information will be finalized in January.
2022 Race Dates and Schedule:
- January 28 — Ceremonial Start – Jackson, Wyoming
- January 29 — Stage One – Teton County, Wyoming
- January 30 — Stage Two – Lander, Wyoming
- January 31 — Stage Three – Pinedale, Wyoming
- February 1 — Stage Four – Big Piney / Marbleton, Wyoming
- February 2 — Stage Five – Kemmerer, Wyoming
- February 3 — Travel Day
- February 4 — Stage Six – Alpine, Wyoming
- February 5 — Stage Seven & Final Banquet – Driggs, Idaho
The 2022 Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race is limited to a maximum of 25 teams. Entry will be open on the following schedule. If at any time the field becomes filled, additional qualified applications will be placed on a waitlist in the order they were received.
Initial Offering: September 1st, 2021, through September 7, 2021 – This entry window is open to any musher who completed the 2021 Pedigree Stage Stop.
Second Offering: September 8th, 2021, through September 14, 2021 – This entry window is open to any musher deemed qualified by the race organization.
Applications must be completed online through the race website, www.wyomingstagestop.org accessible at the “Musher Information” page which can be found on the “Race Information” drop-down menu.
Applications can be submitted no sooner than noon MST on the dates indicated for each offering. The entry window for each round closes at midnight MST on the last day of the window.
An entry fee of $1,050 U.S. dollars must accompany the application and shall be paid with a credit card through a secure payment link on the application form.

Prize money payout is listed on the race website. Besides day money & overall purse, an additional $80,000.00 is available through the Musher Support Program by generous contributions from Pedigree Brand and Mars Petcare.
