(Fremont County, WY) – The final unofficial results for the 2024 General Election were tabulated and shared just after 11 PM on Election Night last night.
Four municipalities in Fremont County had contested races, including Lander, Riverton, Hudson and Shoshoni.
In Lander, incumbent Dan Han won the Lander Council Ward 1 position with 584 votes (51.36%) over Jenny Young’s 499 votes (43.89%). There were 6 write-in votes in this race. Ward 2’s incumbent Julia Stuble took the open position with 606 votes (54.4%) over Zachary Mahlum’s 312 votes (28.01%). There were also 6 write-ins in this race. Incumbent Melinda Cox remained in her uncontested spot for Ward 3, earning 967 votes, with 61 write-ins.
There were two spots open for the Hudson Council, with Brady Hamilton (141 votes at 33.25 %) and Kevin Kummer (86 votes at 20.28%) taking those positions. There were 11 write-ins in that race. There was also a 2 Year uncontested seat open, which went to Helen Gordon (147 votes at 69.34%), with 15 write-ins.
Riverton Council Ward 1 went to Karen Johnson (480 votes at 49.43 %) over Dean Peranteaux’s 354 votes, with 5 total write-ins. Riverton Council Ward 2 went to Rebecca Pierson-Lewis who had 625 votes (44.96%) over Ted McCool’s 505 votes, with 11 write-ins. Ward 3’s uncontested race went to Eric Carr, with 26 write-ins in that race.
For the Shoshoni Council, Jodan Whitener (125 votes at 25.51%) and Mark Nordeen (122 votes at 24.90%) beat out Zent and Ellis, with 3 write-ins.
As for the uncontested races in the other municipalities, Charles Barrett and Ethan Robinson took the two positions for Pavillion Council, with 3 write-ins total. There was also a 2 Year position that had 17 write-in votes and no official candidate, but no write-in names have been released in that race.
For Dubois, Rick Lee and Randy Lahr will fill the two open seats in that race, which had 24 write-ins.
