(Lander, WY) – The KOVE 1330 AM / 107.7 FM Today in the 10 interview series Coffee Time continued today with host Vince Tropea, who recently spoke with Rob Weimann and Joe Lefevre from the local Lander band Big Bob in the Sky.
Big Bob in the Sky is releasing its self-titled debut album on September 25, and will be celebrating with an album release party that same day in the Coalter Loft (above the Lander Bar) at 7 PM. The release party will have a $10 entry fee, which includes a CD of the new release or a discount on the vinyl.
Big Bob in the Sky, which also includes Sean Francis on drums and Bill Hastings on electric guitar, has spent the last two years fine-tuning tracks and playing live shows before recording the songs that became their debut album at the Blasting Room Studios in Fort Collins earlier this year.
Both mainstays of the local music scene (having performed in a plethora of area-favorite bands over the past decade-plus), Weimann and Lefevre chat about the culmination of how the four musicians and the folks behind the scenes came together for the album, the benefits of a supportive local community, drawing inspiration for songs from the Wyoming rivers they call their cubicles (both are experienced fly fishing guides), how Weimann’s songwriting has evolved over the years, and they share some fun stories that happened along the way. They also let us listen to the song “Greatest One,” which you can hear in full during the interview.
