A fire on the 1600 block of Blue Sky Highway (WY 132) was reported around 4:15 pm yesterday, March 31st. Afternoon winds pushed some ag burning a landowner was doing out of control, shared Fremont County Fire District Division Chief Ron Wempen.
The fire impacted through traffic on the highway for a few hours as it burned about five acres of “heavy sagebrush and grass.” Unfortunately, it did destroy some Wyoming Highway Department fence, Ron noted. No injuries were reported.
Responding fire crews include: Fort Washakie, Forest Service, Morton-Kinnear, Pavillion, Midvale, Missouri Valley, and Riverton.
