For the 9th consecutive year, Wyoming State Parks, and Historic Sites and Trails hosted “First Day Hikes,” as a way to celebrate the New Year outdoors. Despite less than ideal weather conditions through much of the state, more than 460 people participated in this year’s event on January 1st.
County 10 shared in early December there were three planned “First Day Hikes” in Fremont County inlcuding: Boysen, Sinks Canyon and South Pass City. Sixty-seven folks attended those three hikes. Boysen participant numbers remained the same as last year, eight. Sinks Canyon had over 2x the amount of participants this year totaling forty-one compared to eighteen last year. South Pass City had eighteen folks in attendance this year. There is no number from last year.
