(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, January 3, an axis of a ridge of high pressure will be directly overhead, bringing mostly sunny skies.
Tonight, under mostly cloudy skies, a Pacific trough will track east within the upper westerly flow and tighten the pressure gradient, meaning increased southwest winds gusting up to 50 mph across southeast Fremont County from South Pass to Beaver Rim to Jeffrey City. Lighter, 10 mph winds are expected within the Wind River Basin.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also reported that highs will be in the 40s for most areas, with lows tonight in the lower 30s and upper 20s.
