(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, April 28, a low-pressure center will be tracking east across the northern plains. As this happens, a cold front will also be swinging in from the northwest around the back side of the center, which will result in northwest winds gusting up to 30 mph and cool, damp air.
We can also expect cloudy skies today, with widespread rain showers, Lipson added. Additionally, the Owl Creek Mountains, Wind River Mountains (including South Pass and Sinks Canyon), could see 2-4 inches of snow due to this weather system.
A few lingering rain showers are likely this evening as well, with partially clearing skies by midnight.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also shared that northern portions will have the best chances for rain, with the gusty winds predominant over areas east of the Divide.
High temperatures will be in the lower 40’s and lower 50’s today, with lows tonight in 30’s.
