(Lander, WY) – The KOVE 1330 AM / 107.7 FM Today in the 10 interview series Coffee Time continued today with host Vince Tropea, who recently spoke with artist and performer Oakley Boycott.
Boycott stopped by to chat about “Noise,” the third installment in a series of endurance art pieces that Boycott conceptualized and performed in the Lander area.
(Noise will take place in the Carnegie Room of the Lander Library, located at 200 Amoretti Street, from 12 to 8 PM, on November 4, 5, and 6.)
Noise focuses on the true meaning of freedom of speech and what that phrase actually means when given the opportunity to express oneself without the filter of societal expectations or repercussions.
Noise will feature a room made of one-way mirrors to provide the choice of anonymity, and will function as somewhat of a verbal rage-room, where folks can express what is on their minds.
Boycott stressed the importance of this form of freedom of speech during this election season, which is also why she solicited funding for the project from local elected officials and candidates running in the 2024 Election, in order for them to truly support free speech in its purest form.
