(Lander, WY) – The KOVE 1330 AM / 107.7 FM Today in the 10 interview series, Coffee Time continued today with host Vince Tropea, who recently spoke with Al Hubbard, Wendy Elias, and Lisa McCart.
Hubbard is a contemporary Indigenous artist of Northern Arapaho and Navajo descent; Elias is one of the art teachers at Gannett Peak Elementary in Lander, and Lisa McCart is the Native American Liaison for FCSD #1.
Hubbard agreed to be the artist-in-residence for art classes at Gannett Peak for the past two weeks, where he shared his expertise with students. Hubbard talks about where he gets his inspiration, his artistic background, and what the experience was like being the artist-in-residence at the school.
Elias and McCart also shared how they attended one of Hubbard’s shows, where Elias was inspired to reach out about the residency, which she explained was very impactful for her students.
