Lander, WY) – The KOVE 1330 AM / 107.7 FM Today in the 10 interview series Coffee Time continued today with host Vince Tropea, who recently spoke with Melissa Bautz from there Lander Pipe Band.
Bautz brought along youth Band members Philomena (high school junior, drummer) and Elisabetha Olsson (middle school 7th grader, pipes) to chat about tonight’s fundraiser organ concert taking place at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (163 Leedy Dr.).
The concert, which begins at 7 PM, will be led by organist and local music teacher at Gannet Peak Elementary, Dr. Brooks Whitmore, with accompaniment from some of the Lander Pipe Band.
The fundraiser is to help get the Pipe Band and their chaperones to Scotland for the August 15 World Youth Pipe Band Championships.
Bautz shares a history of the band, the importance of getting the youth out into the world for events like the Championships, and how folks can show their support, and the Olssons share what being in the Pipe Band is like from the youth perspective.
