(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, October 5, we can expect numerous rain showers continuing as the trough of low pressure swings through, with northeast winds gusting at 15-25 mph.
The rain showers have the potential to mix with snow in the Wind River Basin, Lipson added. The Wind River Mountains can expect occasional snowfall today and tonight, with as much as 7 to 10 inches of new snow expected to accumulate over Togwotee Pass by late tonight and Monday morning, along with 3 to 6 inches in Sinks Canyon, 1 to 3 inches over South Pass, and possibly up to an inch in Dubois.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also shared that a drying and warming trend is expected from Tuesday through Thursday of next week.
Highs will be in the 40s and lower 50s today, with lows tonight in the 30s.
