(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, May 5, a strong cold front moves into our area from the north, as north/northeast winds gusting up to 40 mph usher in much colder air.
Lipson added that a strong, upper-level, moisture-laden difluent flow will be forced up and over the cold dome of air above our area, which will create rainfall over the region by this afternoon. The rain will continue into tonight, changing to snow after midnight, and will be accompanied by north/northeast winds gusting up to 30 mph. The Lander Foothills could see an inch or two of snow by Tuesday morning, with higher elevations in the Wind River Basin at around an inch.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also shared that high temperatures will be in the 50’s for most today, with lows tonight in the 30’s.
