(Riverton, WY) – Contango Resources recently made donations to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and the Fremont County Fair as a part of its ongoing efforts to give back to the community.
The $3,000 donation to the County Fair will go directly toward all categories of the youth awards.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s static or (the) horse show or the livestock show, we try to make sure that we spread the money out,” Katrena Crimm with Contango shared after she and Elmer Witzel presented the check.
“We try to give back to our community wherever possible. Our goal as a company (is) to make sure that we’re taking care of education, first responders, and large groups, if we can, of children,” Crimm added. “I don’t know a better youth organization than 4H to help out with. We have a very strong, very large fair, and we try to do our best to give back in awards. We understand that some of the kids that are in the static don’t get as much recognition as the ones that show livestock, so we want to make sure that everybody has an equal opportunity to win an award.”
“They’re one of my largest sponsors and I love them and appreciate them very much,” Laura Harrington with the Fair Office said of the donation. “…Our donors have dropped a lot in recent years, and they’ve stayed steady and consistent. I really appreciate that.”

Crimm and Witzel then headed over to the Sheriff’s Office to present a $2,500 check, with Lieutenant Kevin Rieman accepting on behalf of the FCSO.
“The Sheriff’s Office appreciates Contango and everything they do for the community and Sheriff’s Office,” Lieutenant Rieman commented. “I’m sure we’ll put this money to good use for equipment and any other items needed for the Office.”
Crimm added that a portion of this donation will also go toward Search and Rescue.
“They take care of us, and we definitely want to make sure we take care of them and our community.”
