(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, October 27, will be partly sunny and windy with scattered rain and snow showers.
Southwest winds of 10-20 mph will veer to the northwest late this morning and increase to 20-30 mph, with gusts of 40-45 mph, as a Pacific cold front swings through.
Lipson added that a snowstorm in the Wind River Mountains could see total accumulations ranging from 1 to 3 inches in Sinks Canyon, 2 to 4 inches of snow over South Pass, 4 to 8 inches over Union Pass, and as much as 8 to 15 inches over Togwotee Pass. Elevations above 10,000ft in the Wind River Mountains could see as much as 15 to 20 inches of snow in some areas.
Tonight will be mostly clear and cold, with west winds gusting up to 30 mph, and it will likely be the coldest night of the season so far. In many areas of the Wind River basin, wind chills could get as low as 10 degrees after midnight.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also reported that high temperatures will be in the 40s and lower 50s today, with lows tonight in the 20s and lower 30s.
