(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, July 3, a weak shortwave trough will track across the area for widely scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
Some of these storms could produce 40 to 50 mph wind gusts, Lipson added, and after the showers end, we will be left with mostly cloudy skies.
As for tomorrow, Independence Day, Lipson says it will be partly sunny with an even better chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms as monsoon moisture and increasing atmospheric instability work their way into the area from the south, out ahead of a stronger trough of low pressure. Some of the storms will likely produce small hail, gusty winds, and locally heavy rainfall.
The National Weather Service also advised that high temperatures will be in the 70s and 80s today, with lows tonight in the upper 50s.
