The Dubois Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) responded to a reported structure fire at 115 E Ramshorn Street last night at 10:55 pm. Upon arrival, DVFD noted the fire was found outside the building against the rear wall and did not extend into the inside of the building.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports a Deputy on patrol noticed the fire at the rear of the building and was able to keep the fire from spreading with a fire extinguisher until DVFD arrived. DVFD responders report using attack lines and opened up the rear wall of the buiding to extinguish the fire.
According to DVFD, the cause of the fire is “…discarded smoking material that had been placed in a bucket used for cigarette butts.”
