UPDATE – The TPD has since shared the following update: “The fire is mostly contained but crews are still working. The main roads to the state park are open but please avoid the parking lot/dirt road in this area and use caution as crews are still moving in and out a lot.” (Note: The affected area is near the water tower in the State Park.)
(Thermopolis, WY) – Crews are currently on-scene addressing a fire in Hot Springs State Park, as of about 3 PM on June 10.
The Thermopolis Police Department is currently assisting the Fire Department with the fire, according to a post on the TPD Facebook page, which states that “all parties have been evacuated and are safe.”
Thermopolis Mayor Adam Estenson shared the following on his Facebook page regarding the fire:
“I have spoken with Sgt. Andersen on scene. Members of the Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Dept. are engaging the fire and working (hard) to get it controlled. We are requesting folks stay clear of the area to allow fire crews to do their job. We are in good hands.”
