(Riverton, WY) – Student artists were celebrated and awarded at a reception for the 43rd Annual CWC Student Art Exhibition, which was held last Thursday evening in the CWC’s Robert A. Peck Art Center.
Best of Show was awarded to Era Moyer for “Twice A Champ” (Digital Photography). Moyer plans to get her associate degree at CWC and then return to her hometown of Star Valley to pursue a career in sports photography.
The People’s Choice Award went to Fira Miller for “Abstract Cubist Grey Scale” (Acrylic), and this year’s President’s Award went to Kindal Hitsman.

Allyson Hardy used AI in the photos she submitted for the exhibition, one of which is a photo of her grandson. “My mom made the outfit,” she said. “She knitted the owl, and I AI’ed the owl into the blanket.”
Michaela Osborne submitted three photos, with this as her first year in Digital Photography. “I like that we had the freedom to do whatever we wanted,” she said. “I used to take pictures for fun with a little point-and-shoot…this was my first time using a mirrored camera.”
Gracie Johnson is a CWC art major who submitted a bronze sculpture entitled “Fallen Angel.” It was her first-ever bronze sculpture, which took a couple of months to create.
“I like to do acrylics the most, but a part of the requirements for this major is the sculpture class,” she said, adding that CWC was only one of the very few schools in Wyoming that offer bronze sculpture. “It was a really cool experience.”
