The two sessions of Unearth Your Story, part of the FCLS adult summer reading program, are coming up at the Riverton Branch Library on July 23 and 30. Mark your calendars!
Unearth Your Story is a two-part workshop that pairs creative writing and visual art, in which you will create, write, and illustrate a scene.
In the first workshop on Thursday, July 23, join writer Austin Hawkins for the creative writing portion. During this session, we will discuss cultivating ideas and crafting them into page-turning scenes. We will explore the motivation for our pieces, what compels us to write them, and how to turn those ideas into a story.
After you’ve penned your scene during the first workshop in the series, join artist Twila Estrada for the second part the next Thursday, July 30, to bring your words to life in a variety of visual media! No prior artistic experience is necessary for this session and art supplies will be provided.
Both workshops will be held in the Riverton Branch Library’s Community Room at 5:30 p.m.
