(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that high pressure overhead will keep our weather hot and dry for the next couple of days, and at the same time, a Pacific trough over the far west US will keep the pressure gradient rather tight, which means breezy conditions are in store as well.
Today, August 21, will be sunny, hot and dry with increasing southwest winds gusting up to 40 mph by this afternoon.
Lipson added that we could see a minor monsoon surge, which would mainly affect southern and eastern Fremont County this afternoon (areas like Moneta, Jeffrey City).
Winds will continue into this evening, which are expected to diminish by tonight under clear skies.
The National Weather Service in Riverton has also shared that southwesterly wind gusts and low humidity will create critical fire weather conditions this afternoon.
High temperatures will be in the 80’s and 90’s today, with lows tonight in the 50’s and 60’s.
