UPDATES: Further scanner reports indicate the injured individual was transported to Sage West, and that the gas explosion has been isolated and allowed to extinguish on its own. Fire crews are on scene to monitor any grass fires, and additional area law enforcement who were assisting with the incident have been returned to regular duties. Fremont County Sheriff’s Office Undersheriff Mike Hutchinson confirmed with County 10 that Lysite-Moneta Road and Badwater Road are closed.
(Fremont County, WY) – Details are sparse and limited to scanner traffic at this time, but reports indicate an explosion occurred in the Lysite area, today July 31, around 11 AM.
Scanner traffic indicates the explosion occurred in the 2700 block of Badwater Road. At least one injury was reported. The blast resulted in a fire and has led to road closures in the area.
Fire and emergency responders are on-scene. Please yield to all responders.
