(Lander, WY) – Following Fremont County School District (FCSD) #1 school board member Scott Jensen’s resignation announcement last night, January 20, the board has announced the guidelines for those who wish send letters of interest for the now-open position.
The notice states that interested individuals should submit a resume and letter of interest outlining their background, relevant experience, and reasons for seeking appointment to the Fremont #1 board. Letters must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, January 30. Resumes and letters of interest may be submitted electronically or on paper to:

The notice states that the appointed individual will serve the remainder of a former member’s term (which ends on December 1, 2028), and that they should represent “the interests of students, families, district staff, and the broader community.”
The notice also requires that eligible candidates ensure that:
● They are not holding an office which may conflict, or be incompatible, with service on the
Fremont #1 Board of Education
● Their employment is compatible with service on the school board
● They reside within the boundaries of the Fremont #1 school district
Submissions will then be reviewed during a February 3 board work session, and then on February 17, the board will vote to select the successful candidate.
