(Fremont County, WY) – The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office shared Thursday morning that one of their patrol vehicles was involved in a traffic collision Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of WY-134 (Missouri Valley) and 8 Mile Road.
According to the press release, two deputies were responding to an in-progress fight outside of Shoshoni around 2 pm and were en route on WY-134 in marked vehicles with emergency lights activated.
A 68-year-old Riverton resident was stopped at the posted 8 Mile Road stop sign and remained stopped for the first deputy. However, pulled out into the intersection as the second deputy approached striking the front passenger side of the deputy’s vehicle.
The collision was unavoidable, the release states.
Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time and no injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation with the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
