UPDATE: Chief Ron Wempen with the Fremont County Fire Protection District confirmed with County 10 around 1:10 PM that the fire has been knocked down and is in the mop-up stage. Wempen said crews will remain on scene for the next few hours to monitor any flare-ups.
UPDATE: Scanner traffic indicates most forward progression of the fire stopped around 11:30 AM. From County 10’s vantage point at the Lander radio station, most of the fire appears to be knocked down, with crews addressing hot spots in the surrounding areas.
(Lander, WY) – Crews are currently on scene addressing a structure fire in the area of North Lane in Lander, as of about 10:30 AM, April 22.
A Lander Police Department officer on scene told County 10 that all roads leading to the area are currently closed to traffic, including 10th and N 9th street, and East and West Lane.
