UPDATE: As of about 6:05 PM, the fire commander has lifted the evacuation orders, as confirmed by Fremont County Emergency Management Coordinator Milan Vinich, and the roads have reopened. Use caution in the area while responders remain on-scene.
UPDATE: Scanner traffic indicates forward progress of the fire has been stopped as of about 5:50 PM. Containment status is forthcoming.
UPDATE: As of about 5 PM, Fremont County Emergency Management Coordinator Milan Vinich shared that no structures have been lost and no power infrastructure has been destroyed at this time. (Riverton Fire Dept. PIO Henri DeClercq has also shared that there have been no injuries reported.)

“Fire suppression measures are actively taking place with Riverton Fire District deploying approximately 8 firefighting apparatus. Fremont County Fire Protection District is providing mutual aid to the Riverton Fire District with approximately 14 apparatus in use. Fire battalions from the Fremont County Fire Protection District include Battalion One Central, Battalion Two for Missouri Valley, Battalion Eight Midvale, Battalion Five Morton Kinnear, Battalion 10 out of Hudson, and BIA Fire. No Structures have been lost at this time and no power infrastructure has been destroyed at this time.”
UPDATE: Shared by the Riverton Police Department around 4:50 PM: “Fire crews are continuing to work the fire along the riverbed. At this time the wind shifted back toward the WR Reservation and away from Riverton. Please stay clear from roadways around the fire so additional fire trucks can access a safe line around the fire.”
UPDATE: As of about 3:50 PM, the fire is now reported to be 100 acres, per the National Fire Interagency Center.

Due to an increasing wildfire threat in your area, Fremont County Emergency Management has been advised to issue a GO Notice. Please be advised that while evacuation is mandatory at this level, DO NOT hesitate evacuate now.
To All Residents Placed in an Evacuation Level Status:
At this time, it is still important for residents to do the following.
Actions to take:
• Evacuate without delay.
• Do not gather additional belongings.
• Follow law enforcement/fire instructions.
• Use designated evacuation routes avoid fire areas.

UPDATE – As of 2:55 PM, County 10 confirmed with Fremont County Emergency Management Coordinator Milan Vinich that an evacuation notice has been issued for “everything east of Red Crow Lane to Highway 789 and everything north of Goes In Lodge Road, south to the Chemtrade acid plant, and east of Highway 789.”
(Riverton, WY) – Multiple fire crews are currently responding to a vegetation fire in the area of Rein Road and Railroad Ave. in Riverton, first reported around 2:30 PM, today, February 7.
The Watch Duty App currently puts the fire at 50 acres.
